As an experienced bar and bat mitzvah photographer in NY City, there are a few things I’ve done for years that have made clients very happy. First, I always get a list of close family and friends so I don’t miss photos of important people. Second I have a timeline of the party highlights so I can be prepared and not miss my shots. And third, the client and I always touch base the week before to confirm all details.

If you’re taking family portraits, another consideration is the lighting used. For more journalistic photos, we use on-camera flash but in darker environments we often use umbrella lighting instead which gives more dimension to the photos. All in all, this is a wonderful and very special occasion and a seasoned professional photographer will create beautiful photos that will last a lifetime!
